Converse Japan keeps the retro sneakers coming with a reissue of the Aerojam Mid, WP2 and MXWAVE silhouettes. Drawing inspiration from vintage ’90s designs, each model has been given a substantial “ENERGY WAVE” midsole, which is also the name of the pack. First up is the Aerojam, tinged in retro pop colors like purple and teal over a crisp monochromatic base. The name of this particular shoe is a reference to the Aero silhouette from 1993 seen in the movie Space Jam. Constructed with a high-collar build, a rubber “Aerojam” piece is stamped behind the upper collars, while black suede panels grace the tongue and the detachable guard covering the forefoot. To complement the tonal One Star logo at the sidewalls, subtle perforations have been added to the toe box, while purple speckles and bright EVA plugs decorate the midsole.
The WP2 sees a shorter mold, rendered in a mix of mesh, suede and smooth leather overlays. “CONS” branding appears at the tongue and heel, contrasted with a purple logo at the sides. Topping off the piece, thin 3M lines frame the edges of the sidewalls, placed just above the mudguards and the chunky “ENERGY WAVE” midsole.

Finally, the MXWAVE is the most muted silhouette among the three. Boasting premium nubuck materials, rubber overlays, grained leather, and metal eyelets, the sneaker is an amalgamation of Converse’s archival basketball designs from the ’80s and ’90s. The sneaker is embroidered with “CONS” and the iconic Chevron-Star logo on the uppers, while flat laces and tightly woven mesh textiles round up the throwback design.

Though no exact dates have been disclosed, Converse Japan’s “ENERGY WAVE” Pack are set to land soon in the month of September at, ranging from $142 – $122 USD.
