Nike "Evolution of The Swoosh" Packs

Nike once again delves into its own archives for the “Evolution of the Swoosh” collection. An expansive range consisting of three distinct sneaker packs, the shoes all sport different variations of Swooshes from the sportswear giant’s heritage. Offered in the “Script Swoosh,” “Sunburst” and “Swoosh Chain” packs, Nike’s classic silhouettes receive a variety of thematic remixes. Each set includes an upgraded Air Force 1, Air Max Plus and Air Max 97, with some offerings including the React Element 55. The “Swoosh Chain” pack is the only set available exclusively for children, with ’70s inspiration informing the three silhouettes, the rest of the shoes will be in adult sizes as well.

The “Script Swoosh” pack transplants the original Swoosh design from 1971 created by Carolyn Davidson atop the four included sneakers, though Nike hasn’t made high-resolution imagery for the React Element 55 available yet. For now, one can see that the Air Force 1, Air Max 97 and Air Max Plus all sport monochrome white uppers and black accents, with hits of red for emphasis. Throwback Nike branding, sparse graphic accents, and ripstop and suede textiles appear on each of the shoes, granting the minimalist colorways a touch of personality.

Finally, the “Sunburst” selection takes cues from Nike’s 1972 branding, which saw the company expand to in-house apparel. Circular logos allowed designers to create arched club names to fit, making it a natural fit for collegiate teams. Appropriately, the playful swirling Swooshes are accompanied by rich yellow, red and green color, offset by neutral white and black.

Nike’s “Evolution of The Swoosh” shoes hit Foot Locker’s site and stores throughout August; the “Script Swoosh Pack” drops on August 10th, the Swoosh Chain Pack” on August 17th and the “Sunburst Pack” on August 31st.
